yes... this is a real cake, and they keep it from falling over by using rods to connect the layers. There may even be one big rod running all the way from the top to the bottom. You just can't see any of it because the flowers are covering it. In order to serve it you would have to dis-assemble it starting at the very top (layer, by layer). I think it's very different and gorgeous. I want something similar at my wedding. What a hit!!!
